The Cleveland Cavaliers have waived guard Tarence Kinsey, the team announced today.

Kinsey originally signed with the team as a free agent on August 1st, 2008. He played in 50 games (three starts) during the 2008-09 season with averages of 2.0 points and 0.8 rebounds in 5.5 minutes per game. In his three starts, Kinsey averaged 7.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, 0.7 assists, and 1.0 steal in 25.6 minutes per game. During the 2009 NBA Playoffs, he saw action in nine games and averaged 0.4 points in 1.2 minutes per game.

As a member of the Cavaliers 2009 NBA Summer League team playing in Las Vegas, Kinsey played in five games (all starts) averaging 12.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 24.2 minutes per game.

  • While Kinsey is a friend of LeBron’s,He wouldn’t have much in PT with Parker coming over from Toronto. BTW, Ivan Harris, former 6-6 swingman from Ohio State who played in the D League with Erie, had a All-Star season, who thinks defense first.Maybe a forward/guard that could help the Cavs in 09-10.
