The only good news came in the morning when Jason Kidd told the New York media he would consider the Knicks as a free agent in 2009 to play for Mike D’Antoni and return to some old stomping grounds. Kidd doesn’t look so great anymore but he’s good enough to be a drawing chip for LeBron James. He’d have to take the $6 million mid-level exception in a long-term deal that would pay him $35 million. Not bad for a 36-year-old PG. New York Post
